Did you listen to this song more than once?

I went on a few podcasts last week, but only one has been released, episode 71 of And the Podcast Will Rock.

In every episode, an app randomly chooses a Van Halen song for the hosts and guests to pick apart. We got “lucky” on this episode. It chose a track off Van Halen III: “Once.”

I know a lot more than most should about the album, but not the song — it’s not an easy re-listen. In fact, it was rated as a the worst song ever featured on the podcast (yes, “How Many Say I” included).

But that’s also what made the episode fun. You have to really love a band to roast them this hard.

The opposite of love isn’t hate. It’s indifference. We were not indifferent about this song.
